Why a family law solicitor?
Family law is a specialism that deals with (not surprisingly) the family. There are specialist solicitors that practice in pretty much every area of the law and you most certainly do not want a generalist involved here. The CSA for example are a government body tasked with collecting money- they are not the first point of call- a specialist family law solicitor will guide you through the process and has the necessary experience, knowledge and contacts to give you the very best chance of success in appeal.
Solicitors that practice generally can be very useful for more mundane matter- for example drafting a will, carrying out the conveyancing for a home purchase or even handling a rights of way dispute with a neighbour. It is unlikely; however that they will have the necessary specialist knowledge to make a success of an appeal
A good family law solicitor will assess the strengths and weaknesses of your case in the first instance by listening carefully to what you have to say and to understand the real reason why your appeal may have a chance of success. After taking into account all of the facts, a specialist family law solicitor will then be able to guide you through the process, accompany you at key times (if necessary) and give you the best chance possible of success.
You could, of course do this yourself and listen to the sage advice of those people who have opinions on the subject and believe me there will be many that do. Getting the help and support of an excellent family law solicitor will make the difference you need and give you the very best chance of winning the appeal.
